The stand features the original bun warmer that dates back to 1948 and still works. Of course, what's a drive-in without a concession stand featuring favorites like hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, popcorn and more?Įffinger's wife, Cathie, runs the concession stand. So you're seeing the same digital quality on that 80-foot screen that you see on your 55- to 75-inch high-definition television at home."Įffinger converted the theater to digital in 2012. "It's a different type of atmosphere to watch movies on a big 80- foot screen," Effinger said of the nostalgia factor of going to a drive-in. He said the business has lasted for 72 years because of its safe environment and the fact that families pass down the experience through generations. Besides the local area, Effinger draws customers from Chillicothe, Columbus and West Virginia. He said there are only 316 drive-ins left in the country. So we decided to make the investment to keep parts coming in and keep them going." They wanted the nostalgia of hanging them on their window. "We thought about doing away with them because of the expense," Effinger said. Effinger said lots of customers used the old-fashioned speakers before coronavirus hit. ![]() But people can also hear the movie on their vehicle radio or on a portable radio. "The owner's health was failing so he wanted to sell it to someone would keep it going. "From there on I just ran the movies and ran the concession stand," he said. Then-owner Carlos Crum hired him and Effinger bought the business in 1994. Effinger became interested in the drive-in business as a junior in high school.

![]() If you don't have some stable VR legs (luckily I do) then you're likely to get motion sickness with some PCVR headsets more so than the PSVR. To your point though, they really do have their pros and cons! The Rift CV1 only does 90FPS while the PSVR1 has a refresh rate of 120FPS. I can still play almost all VR games at high graphic settings (HL Alyx at medium) and run them at medium when it's a newer taxing title or when I'm streaming. I thought I would need to spend about $1k+ on a decent PC, which is what stopped me from upgrading, but I was able to build a rig for $400 that runs a GTX 1660ti 6GB and an E5-1650 v3 with 16GB of RAM, and that's what convinced me to switch at that time. The only AAA title I play is Half-Life Alyx, but that's for the gunman contracts mod (like you had mentioned) I mostly play Indie VR titles on PCVR like Pavlov, Phasmophobia, Demonologist, Half-Life 2 VR, The Forest VR, and a few other flat screen titles like Ready or Not. Eye of the BeholderĪll these first-person grid-based dungeon crawlers with timing-based combat have to have come from somewhere, right? Well, behold the grandaddy of the modern dungeon crawler: Eye of the Beholder. However, it loses points for paywalling certain classes and lineages. Unlike D&D Online, which allowed its Free-To-Play monetization to morph into a horrific money hole, Neverwinter has put in the work to manage its condition with plentiful updates and slightly less predatory monetization plans. So, it pulled out all the stops to prove itself and eventually grew into something distinct and interesting. However, unlike D&D Online, which used a version of the tabletop game’s rules that were widely adored by fans, Neverwinter used a more recent (and decidedly less popular) ruleset as its base. A pity we couldn’t have caught it in time. Symptoms include content droughts and predatory monetization. However, like many older MMORPGs, it’s begun to develop a terminal case of “Free-to-play syndrome:” a devastating illness that claims MMORPGs all over the world. Set in the D&D realm of Eberron (which takes its inspiration from pulp action stories like Indiana Jonesand Alan Quatermaine), D&D Online is a solid, fun MMORPG that’s still going strong today. But D&D Online certainly has some staying power. Surprisingly, this isn’t the first Dungeons and Dragons MMORPG. We’ll have plenty more to say about those games in just a bit. ![]() While Eye of the Beholder 3 is certainly solid, it’s also the weakest overall entry in the series with less exploration and a less engaging story than its predecessors. Don’t worry, though. The Eye of the Beholder series brought a host of innovations to dungeon-crawling RPGs by blending first-person exploration with an intriguing combination of real-time and turn-based combat mechanics that emphasized timing and cooldowns in ways that are still being used today. 23. Eye of the Beholder 3: Assault On Myth Drannor So If you want to kill both goblins and time, this is a strong choice, but there’s very little else to get excited about here. The game was licensed by D&D’s creators and uses D&D‘s rules, but aside from the numbers and the wanton violence against certain iconic monsters like Beholders and Mimics, very little about this game really feels like D&D. ![]() Dungeon Hack’s randomly generated labyrinths get very old very fast, and its “story” feels as if someone managed to make a Dungeon Master-flavored Lacroix. Yes, you refined the gameplay of your predecessors to a razor’s edge. From hack-and-slash grind fests to deep storytelling experiences, here are twenty-five of the best D&D games out there! Just keep in mind that we’ll be looking at games that use the D&D name or are set somewhere in the greater D&D universe.ĭungeon Hack, we need to talk. So if you can’t get a group together, or you’re just dying to indulge in a deep and primal desire to pretend to be an elf, there are plenty of video games out there to whet your appetite. ![]() And friendship, we guess.īut given the near-ubiquity of this franchise, it only makes sense that there would be plenty of video games set in one of D&D’s various worlds. Since it was published in 1974, the pen-and-paper roleplaying game has been turned into books, comics, cartoon series, action figures, movies, and even a breakfast cereal! Sure, it’s had its share of controversies (some unfounded, some extremely valid), but this game’s influence has withstood the test of time and helped millions of people across decades create memories of glory, fellowship, and that most powerful magic of all: A well-placed critical hit turning your Dungeon Master’s hand-crafted boss monster into a fine red smear. Dungeons & Dragons is one of the most influential franchises in gaming history. ![]() Obviously, it looks stunning - but also showed a different geometry. ![]() But not even a week ago, on Octothey announced availability (after several hints) of this new bronze razor. Now, I'm a sucker for anything made of titanium - but I'm holding out for polished versions (hint, hint). Since then, they've introduced their (matte finish) titanium line with the same geometry. They're just beautifully crafted and more importantly, incredible shavers. In fact, since I got the stainless models I've practically shaved with nothing else except here and there to add some variety. It's probably no secret around here that I'm a huge fan of #TimelessRazor. I'd like to focus on the star of the show today, the Timeless Razor TRBR38 #razor in bronze! RECOMMENDATIONS: If you have sensitive skin and not a lot of hair, we would suggest the 0.68 mm blade gap Solid Bar base plate. The solid bar and scalloped base plate both give excellent audio feedback. The solid bar is VERY SMOOTH on the face and the Scalloped Base is somewhere in between the two. is probably the most aggressive but VERY efficient. The difference in the base plates is that the O.C. The 0.68 is a MILD blade gap that takes a couple more passes to get the job done, but has a VERY SMOOTH feel on the face. It is very efficient, but not overly aggressive. The 0.95 is a MEDIUM AGGRESSIVE blade gap. ![]() OPEN COMB: if you shave every 3-4 days or more and or have a lot of growth SCALLOPED: if you shave every 2-3 days and or have medium growth SOLID BAR: If you shave everyday and or have just a little growth 95 because it gets the job done quickly and efficiently. 68 needs more passes and strokes to get BBS which could lead to irritation. Those with sensitive skin tend to go for the mild. Our customers are about 50/50 as to which blade gap they prefer. Most customers end up purchasing all of the base plates over time anyway because they are curious as to how they differ. ![]() Some guys just buy the master kit (I know it is costly) but this gives you the chance to see and use all of the items and compare. The SB is meant for everyday with little hair, and the SCL is meant as an in between. What is the difference between the base plates and the blade gaps?ĪNSWER: There is little difference in feel with the plates of the same blade gap. ![]() His health bar is full/ok, then he is probably suffering from oxygen deprivation or can't breath, then you might want to inject him some erythrozine (the blue chem), put a diving mask on him (if the whole submarine is flooded, if not then just take him to a dry area), also to put the diving mask on him you have to put it in his inventory first THEN put the diving mask on him, it's a little bug I think, AND THEN, when you fully injected the erythrozine and put the diving mask on him, you start doing CRP Try and resurrect someone: security officers have decent medical skills, so they are good for resurrecting, but you might say ''but how do I know what to do with the unconscius person? When provided with a lambda - the number is an element of the iterable we're currently filtering. This condition can be supplied either as an anonymous function - lambda or a standalone function: number_list = įiltered_list = list( filter( lambda number: number % 2 = 0, number_list)) ![]() If the condition isn't satisfied and False is returned, the element of the iterable is filtered out. If the condition is satisfied and True is returned, it's not filtered out. If we were to do filtering via for and if statements, it'd look something like: # Create a simple list numbered 0 to 10īy contrast, we could've achieved this same result using filter(), and passing in the same condition. Since filter() returns a generator ( filter object) - we'll wrap it in a list() to convert it back to a simple list. The filter() Functionįilter() is a built-in function, and it allows us to take a group of iterable items and test if the elements within the iterable meet your specified filter criteria: filter(function, iterable) Iteration tools offer efficient, standardized functions (similar to the functions you'd see in functional programming languages like Haskell) that integrate with other iterative functions to simplify iterative tasks down to just a few lines of code. We often ignore the features and tools a language may have that can help us with iterative tasks. Typically, when we work with iterable objects, we loop through them using basic tools like for loops. We'll start by defining iterable objects and iteration functions and then proceed to look at some examples of the four iteration functions mentioned above. The first item in both iterables is paired, the second item in both iterables is paired together, and so on. zip() - The zip() function takes two iterable objects and returns a tuple of paired elements.map() - The map() function creates an iterable map object that applies a specified transformation to every element in a chosen iterable.islice() - The islice() function allows the user to loop through an iterable with a start and stop, and returns a generator. It then tests every element in the sequence to determine if the element fits the filtering criteria, returning only the elements that match that criteria. filter() - The filter() function takes in a provided sequence or iterable along with a filtering criteria (a function or lambda). This guide will show you how to use Python itertools to iterate through objects via: Python provides its users with a number of useful functions and data structures that make working with data easier, including tools used to efficiently loop through data - known as itertools.
